Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car whichs name refers to the Ferrari Dino V6 engine.
Two body styles were built between 1966 and 1973 : the 2-door coupé and the 2-door spider.
The one we offer for sale is a spider.
The reason the Fiat Dino was built is because the FIA had drawn up new rules concerning F2 engines.
They were required to have no more than six cylinders and to be derived from a production engine, from a road car homologated in the GT class and produced in at least 500 examples within 12 months.
The small Ferrari manufacturer did not have the capacity to reach such quotas. That's why an agreement was signed with Fiat and was made public in March 1965.
Dino was the nickname of Enzo's son Alfredo Ferrari, who died in 1956...
All Dino Spider 2.0L (V6 - 118 kW - 1987cc ) have VIN numbers between 0001 and 1158 and were all built between 1967 and 1968. This one is 1009 and was built at the end of 1968 by Fiat in Rivalta (Italy).
Engine number is 0004239 and type is 135B, means this is the correct engine type for this car.
The car was the subject of a very complete restoration respecting the highest standards. The car underbody was completely sodablasted and protected with a transparent protective coating.
There is no trace of rust or pitting, feet of wing and feet of doors are very nice.
Quality of lack can be called almost perfect being shiny, uniform and homogenous.
Original chrome parts with only very few signs of aging and wear.
Rubbers are partially renewed partially original and in excellent condition.
Engine runs very well and corresponds to the original specifications and is coupled to a normal functioning gearbox and clutch.

Same can be said from the interior. Partially original, partially restored.
